wanted to put my list (below post) in the side bar, so I wanted it to be its very own post.  so here's a continuation of what's happening in my world today...

 

I haven't done my 365 for today yet..I keep putting it off until the afternoon.  I'd really like to start getting it done earlier. before lunch.  But yesterday there was a tie for which one to use.  You can see the one I picked (well...the one that Jon picked) on my flickr.  here's the other.  I really can't decide which one I like better.  But alas, I can only submit one..

 

 

OH MY GOODNESS.  Jon literally *just* walked in and handed me our missing Christmas star (...you can read about it in a December post and again in my new year post...we've gone 3 whole Christmases without anything atop the tree, b/c I was absolutley determined to find it!)...I totally cried.  We went through the garage today (the van's back in again!  YAY!) and were throwing out an old artifical Christmas tree (which was totally busted up and broken, so hang on just a second before you get all angry about us not being green).. and last minute, as Jon was about to toss it, he decided to keep the tote that it was in..and right there, in the very bottom, rested a little white box labeled  STAR .  I'm so happy.  I think I just figured out what to do for my 365.

i was totally inspired by hula seventy .  so here's my list of 25 things to do before I turn 26.  I'm super excited about this because, while the list isn't composed of HUGE goals/tasks,they're all things that I've either always wanted to do, or keep putting off.  And because I'm just about the world's second biggest procrastinator (my husband being the world's first -- makes for a really fun time packing for trips), I thought this might help bring about actually fulfilling some of these things.  Some are business related, some personal, but all so super duper important to me. 

here we go, friends :)

1.  go camping with just the 5 of us.

2.   order moo cards.

3.   pick fruit at an orchard.

4.   go on a thrifting/antiquing outing with my mama.

5.   hang pictures in the hallway.

6.   exchange old clothes for new ones at buffalo exchange (or somewhere similar)

7.   get our family pictures taken.  professionally.

8.   start a 365 project  [ha!  done and done.]

9.   reorganize my office.

10.  take a day trip to canyon -- just to play in the water.

11.  open an etsy shop.

12.  make a December Daily album.

13.  make a 26 things list with Jon (for Jon)

14.  get bikes (oh and mine with a basket..)

15.  get eclectic letters to spell out    simplify    for my kitchen window sill.

16.  design a logo/have one designed.

17.  update our website.

18.  book 10 weddings.

19.  get brochures/cards/promo materials into boutiques, dr offices, etc.

20.  clean up my hard drive.

21.  pretty my blog.

22.  REALLY REALLY learn manual mode.

23.  go on a photo safari with Jon.

24.  make a photo shoot video.

25.  organize all of our clients into a really great data base.

 

 

so there it is.  I'm actually nervous about a few of them...not sure if I'll be able to fulfill each and every goal/task.  But that's the point, right?  Gotta make it challenging or it wouldn't be much fun or provide a sense of accomplishment.  And one down.  only 24 more to go....

365 days.  365 self portraits.  one whole year.  one whole year of me.  um...I'm nervous.

I've been absolutley longing to do a 365 self portrait project for soooo long [for almost two years].  I'm finally just going to start..January 15, 2009. all. the. way. through. January 14, 2010.

I'm nervous.

But, I'm SO excited.

I love capturing people's beauty with my camera.  I love telling a story with the pictures that I create.  I long to give people photos that they can feel.  I'm ready to stretch myself as an artist and put *myself* in front of the camera for an entire year..stretching my creativity, being transparent with my life [because I *know* that I won't feel like taking a picture of myself everyday for 365 days].  I'm excited for January 15, 2010 so that I can look back at my year.  each day documented.  a paused moment from each and every day.  love.
