oh goodness. I can't even TELL you how much fun I had on this session! I shot this WAAAY back in April as a surprise for Father's Day...so I couldn't share...and then it got lost in the shuffle.
Oh goodness, there's something so magical about this session..something so amazingly beautiful about the way this girl and her momma interact. such pure love and adoration..
something so magical.
gorgeous!
breathtaking...
spin spin spin!
such adoration.
then, we played dress up with momma's fancy jewels and lipstick. I LOVE when my clients think outside the box and come up with pure brilliance!
all dolled up!
and then we finished off with some bubble fun!
and as a little added bonus, a little extra father's day love, Thereza let me capture the beauty that she so boldly possesses.
Thereza...thank you SO much for letting me have the opportunity to capture the bond that you and your girl share. From having backyard tea parties regularly, slumber parties in the living room often and weekly bathroom pedicures, you're relationship is truly inspiring. I was absolutley honored to document a slice of your and Sammy's day to day..love, ashley.

I don't even have the words to begin how special of a place I hold in my heart for this family. The only description that sums in up into less than 5 words is that they're our lobsters(and a big high five to whoever can name that reference first)..they are the epitome of generosity, a perfect blend of sarcasm and love, a comedic relief of a hard day, a slap in the face when I need it most, a shoulder to cry on, a inappropriate comment or joke at the most inappropriate of times, yet somehow manages to seem perfectly appropriate..people to just be with. I could go on and on..
I was so overjoyed to actually have the opportunity to take them out on a "real" session..I've done countless photos of them, but this time we actually left the house and dedicated two whole hours to photo loveliness. delish. simply delish.
The weather was amazing..just cool enough, just warm enough. a slight little breeze...all things that make up perfect picture taking weather..and the light. GORGEOUS.
Such a ham -- totally modeling and posing for me..
sidenote: baby = 2 1/2 months. mama = hot. just sayin'.
love how big sis is stealing a little kiss..
picture perfect little family of four. indeed.
xoxo.
epitome of hotness. HAWT.
loooooove this one..
and while John ordered food, Amanda changed baby into a warmer outfit -- I had already packed up my gear, but quickly pulled it back out as this little bebe went on a smiling spree. little beauty.
John, Amanda, & bebes. we love you so much. I simply don't have the words to express it. Our heart is simply so full of joy because of your friendship. Thanks so much for always being there for us, laughing with us, crying with us, just doing life with us. I have no words to express my heart. we love you. so much. love, ashley & jon.

okay. I'm nervous to actually declare that I'm back..computer problems are a super touchy subject in this house..we're back on..no we're not..yes...no..no..yes..oh wait. no.
..but thanks the generosity of a friend, we were given a computer to get us through..and I *think* we're up and running..
so sorry for the lack of posts, but between being out of town and the computer being out for the count for the last 18 days, I feel like I've pretty much fallen off the face of the planet. So while I attempt to play catch up, please forgive me for the lack of pretty-ness on this blog..and the tardy/no response to emails..and if you're waiting to proof your session online, rest assured that your disc is in the mail and just as soon as I can get software uploaded and what not, they'll be posted to your client gallery..
I'll be back soon with a pretty post, some client love and a little post about a little girl in this house that turned 5 yesterday..
until then....a cute little pic of our little man enjoying a cupcake from his oldest sister's birthday party in March...yum..

The flu has struck. With a vengeance. Its made its way through 3 out of 5 of us (1 with the "throw up kind" 2 with the body ache/fever/congested kind)..Just a quick post to let you all know that we are in fact still alive. Although last night I was sure that I was going to die. My head pounded as I stared out at the crazy bright moonlight...getting out of bed every 30 minutes to cough up half my lung. The kind of cough that should only come from a 70 year old emphysema patient.
So needless to say I've been on somewhat of a hiatus from all things internet related -- except browsing my regular blog stops inbetween coughing fits. And maybe a little facebook action. But that 365......I know. I KNOW. I'm going to start back up. I have some of the shots from the last 10ish days that I've missed, but I think I'll just start up where I'm at. Tomorrow. ha!
And just to show you that I do indeed have lovely pictures to post here's a little peek at the session I'm working on right now....isn't she just lovely?

wow. seriously wow. canNOT believe it. She's seven. 7! Are you kidding me? I'm two whole days late posting this as she actually turned 7 on the 3rd, but I wanted to wait until after I shot her birthday photos..at which point we took her out for her birthday dinner (red robin -- its her absolute fav), then yesterday came and went (two sessions and crazy invitation making with Promise)..didn't help that I crawled into bed at 8:30....so, all that to say, here we are two days past her birthday..
Miss Hailey. I love her. She is pretty much the sweetest, most thoughtful little girl ever. With sarcasm to boot. This girl is no longer a little kid, but a full blown young girl. I can't quite place my finger on where exactly the last 7 years drifted off to, but I have a heart full of fun memories to show for them. And while I could do a whole post (and then some) on what's happened and how much our lives have changed in the last 7 years, I really wanted to dedicate a post just to Hailey at 7. So here we are....
S H E
: loves with her whole heart.
: is wildly sarcastic -- has been since she was two..
: is crazy protective of her younger siblings.
: sometimes speaks without thinking, and in turn feels the utmost remorse for anything hurtful that may have been said in that fleeting moment.
: loves to write and draw.
: always wants to do a project.
: loves going out to eat.
: hearts high school musical.
: is crazy about accessorizing. we often hear this while getting ready for school -- mom? this shirt is just too plain. do you have a necklace that I could wear?
: is apparently 7 going on 13.
: got glasses this year.
: *finally* has a loose tooth.
: is rarely withouther mp3 player in her ears.
: loves reading and is almost at a 3rd grade reading level.
: has only missed 1 spelling word out of the 300 that she's been tested on.
: HATES being dirty -- always has -- wouldn't even walk on grass when she was a baby.
: is super passionate.
: is wildly sensitive.
: really loves candy.
: loves taking pictures [that's my girl!]
here's a few of my favorite images from her birthday mini-session..
and my *very* favorite shot of the day. i looooove it. (I showed her this image and she screams, delete it! I can't believe how dirty my feet are!!! hahahahaha!!! such a Hailey thing to say!).
and her birthday dinner at red robin. we were seated right in front of a red neon sign, so all the pictures have a super crazy red glow...and thus are all black and white now. :)
she was allowed to order a fancy lemonade in a fancy glass. super fancy and super happy.
receiving her happy birthday song and sundae. yum.
happy birthday, my sweet little hailey bugg. i love you this much. love, mommy.
