Her eyes dance when she looks at him and he glows when she's nearby. She constantly talks about him and how amazing he is, and he's always taking such delight in her -- constantly mentioning how lucky he is to have her and how beautiful she is....their eyes lock and I'm sure that they feel like they're the only two around..i love the way they love each other..
These two eloped to the white sandy beaches of Jamaica in April and pledged their lives to each other. They had no professional photog at the ceremony (although Amanda did a rockin' job playing photog, which was somewhat challenging as she and John were the only two witnesses..) so we were THRILLED when they asked us to shoot an ever after session to commemorate their love..
We trucked all over town, in 115+ degrees [and ciji (pronounced see-gee)-- what a rock star! truckin' around in that heat in a full gown! and Chris -- changing into full turn-outs! NICE! I LOVE when couples take one for the team for the sake of great images!]..so yes. 115 degrees. it. was. hot. but I'm pretty sure you're in for one heck of a heat wave yourselves...grab a glass of ice water and a fan...its about to get HOT in here....
we started at the fire station....
see? HOT. I know. go grab the fan. and that ice water! I warned you!
and then we headed for a little sweet spot that Chris had staked out for us...[you were right Chris! you were right!]
and here he is trying to figure out how to tighten up Ciji's dress...but goodness. there's just something about this one that I love.
oh and that hairpiece? that's a peek into my line over at our store. its going to be soooo yummy (although, now that I mention it, allthe hairpieces that Ciji rocked are my designs. felt so blessed to have her model them for me!!)
that''s my kind of girl. rock those red shoes with your dress. delish.
delightful.
and Chris, still not quite sure how to tighten that thing up...
..and my very VERY favorite shot of the day (although, let me assure you. its was a TOUGH call)..
um...hello hotness! and did you catch Chris' reflection? it makes me love this shot that much more. knowing that she's gazing at him and he doesn't even know. love love love. [I'm not gonna lie. I'm super jealous that Jon took this one].
love this one..
and then off to the training academy. we learned SO much about fire training here -- and took a few pics too! Let's start things off right..
these two make me happy.
and then finally to this amazing field. oh my goodness. can I just tell you that I'm pretty sure I let out an audible shriek when I saw this field adjacent to the training academy. asking as we turned into the academy, wait. what's that? can we go there too? okay. sunset. its ON. and while I didn't love the mosquitoes ORthe treacherous hike (never realized how extremely difficult it is to trek through a field...and it was of the lavender variety I think...), I do love the images that resulted. It was all soooooo worth it.
so do you see those lovely sparkly things in the lower left corner? pretty right? no. no they're not. those are mosquitoes. talk about taking one for the team! I rocked golf-ballsized welts on my legs for over a week. those were some MEAN mosquitoes. not to mention I was wearing a dress for this shoot. um, yeah......Jon had few pretty bad ones, but I think I win due to the dress situation. just sayin'. but again. sooooooo worth it.
and that favorite shot of the day? it was SUCH a tough call because of these..
Chris and Ciji. thank you so much. thanks for inviting us in and letting us capture that love that makes you both glow with the same intensity as the setting sun. so warm, so soft, yet so intense. we love you both SO much, and feel so blessed to have you in our lives. we love living life with you and can't wait to see all the blessings that your marriage brings. may you delight in each other every single day. love, ashley & jon.
